William Downing Foster, employee of the U.S. attorney's office in Salt Lake City for 15 years, died Friday in a Salt Lake hospital of lobar pneumonia.
He was born in Salt Lake City December 6, 1881, a son of William R. and Mary Cannon Foster, remaining a life resident of the city. In 1920 he married Ruby Cowan in Wyoming.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Jane Samuelson; two brothers, S. Marsena Foster, Salt Lake City; Clifford R. Foster, Reno, Nevada; a sister, Mrs. May Ridges, Cleveland, Ohio; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at noon at 260 E. South Temple. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery.
