Nellie Whiteley Helmke passed away peacefully at Houston Hospice on Sunday, November 18. Nell was born on December 10, 1919 to Abner and Mary Catherine Chalmers Whiteley. She was married to A. D. (Fred) Helmke for 54 years. She is survived by their four children, Charles, Carolyn Sue, David, and Steve, and three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 4700 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023, at 11:30 a.m., Friday, November 23. Burial will be at a later date at St John's Lutheran Church cemetery in Deanville, Texas.
