Daughter of Lou Etta Baker and William James Byrd. Wife of Clyde Ernest Harmon; married December 9, 1933.

Nevis Harmon - Funeral services for Nevis Harmon, 72, a resident of Arcadia, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Conger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Tulip Cemetery near Arcadia. Officiating will be Dr. Roger Freeman and the Rev. Archie Pippin, Baptist ministers. Mrs. Harmon died Tuesday morning at Willis-Knighton Hospital following a short illness. She was a native of Claiborne Parish and was a housewife. Survivors include a son, J. Lane Harmon of Shreveport; three sisters, Elvie Watson and Novis Boddie, both of Arcadia, and Vyna Pierce of Shreveport; a brother, Varner M. Byrd of Arcadia; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wilton Kilpatrick, Travis Thomas, Donald Byrd, Richard Pierce, Ruey Watson and Farrell Watson. (The Shreveport Times, November 28, 1979)
