Meryle Dillinger Fincher peacefully left us on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at the age of 96.

Born May 10, 1921, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Mary Minor and James S. Dillinger, Meryle was a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin in 1943. She was married 61 years to Ernest H. Fincher (deceased 2004) on June 21, 1943, moving to Washington state to work on Grand Coulee Dam, then Gardena, Calif., where she was able to watch the Spruce Goose roll down Crenshaw Avenue, before returning to her home state of Texas. She lived in Fort Worth for over 50 years.

Meryle was a loving mother to Judith F. Baskin (Elba "Bud" Baskin), Marylyn F. Hodges (Phillip F. Hodges), James E. Fincher (Kathy A. Fincher), Bettylynne F. Gregg (James M. Gregg) and Donald R. Fincher (Marcie M. Fincher); granny to nine grandchildren, Brian C. Baskin (Lara L. Baskin), Karen M. Hodges, Linda D. Hodges Barcelo (David Barcelo), Margaret K. Fincher Hunter (Jonathan Hunter), Kelley L. Fincher Dinghin (Jean-Marc Dinghin), John R. Gregg (Catherine L. Gregg), Julie N. Gregg, Coleman D. Fincher, Alexandra S. Fincher; great-granny to nine wonderful children, Hunter J. Baskin, Emma R. Baskin, Gabriella M. Barcelo, Anya O. Barcelo, Patrick D. Hunter, Molly G. Hunter, William (Liam) J. Hunter, Delphine L. Dinghin, Adelynne J. Gregg.

Meryle loved her 15 years of teaching 4 year olds at University Christian Church Weekday School in Fort Worth, Texas. The family would like to thank the staff of caring people at Woodland Terrace and at Querencia for their support for our Mom over the past several years.
