Calvin was born Jan 18, 1933 on a farm northwest of Alburnerr, the son of Elmer and Orlou (Stick) Moore He graduated from Alburnett High School in 1950 and Iowa State university 1954. He married Christina Rawson in Cedar Rapids in1952. He served in the US AirForce and Reserve for over 20 years retiring aa Major. He was a strong advocate for veteran organizations. He was employed with Soil Conservation Service for 10 years. The by prudential insurance for over 20 years. He and Chris retired in Cedar Rapids in 2000. They bolunteered at Brucemore as well as the Alburnett Historical Society. He and Chris received the Govenor of Iowa Volunteer Award in 2010
Cal is survived by his wife, Christina, daughter susan (Don) Loschelder, three grandchildren, Nolan, Colin and Courtney, sister-in-laws ardis Kirkpatrick Moore, Ada Rawson Olmsted and Delores Rawson and brother-in-law, Weir Nelson and serverl nieces and nephews and friends.
