HAMILTON — It is with great sorrow the family of Lon D. Dannenbrock, 92, informs his old friends here in Hamilton and Missoula of his passing in Sequim, Washington, on Oct. 11, 2018, of natural causes. Lon was a wonderful, loving father to Carol Sue Dannenbrock of Sequim, Kay Lambert of Hamilton and Nancy Garcia of Palo Alto, California.

He is preceded in death by his wife Ellen, son Jim, and step-son Ronald Kephart. Lon was born in Missoula, Aug. 6, 1926. He served in the Navy as an LST machinist 1944-1946. Lon was a rancher, builder, and real estate broker in the Bitterroot Valley and Missoula. He is perhaps most known and beloved for his role as entertainer and jokester, and his boogie-woogie improvisations on stage at the Elks Club in Hamilton and Missoula, where he had the privilege of accompanying famed trumpetest, Al Hirt. His music was featured on a regular radio show on KGVO radio in the ‘70s. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a big man with a big voice, and, especially, a big heart.

Funeral services will be held Nov. 2, 10 a.m., at the Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton. Please share your condolences with the family by visiting dalyleachchapel.com under the obituary section.
