EMMA K. TRACY Rites Thursday

Mrs. Emma K. Tracy, a resident of the Peru community for 28 years, died Monday, Sept. 2, 1968, at her home in Scott township. She was 93 years of age.

Mrs. Tracy was a native of Illinois, where she was born at Sublette on May 30, 1875. She was the former Emma Katherine Reis, daughter of George and Margaretha Beitz Reis.

She was married at Bridgewater to Martin F. Tracy in 1901, and much of her life was spent in Adair County. She had lived in Scott township since 1940 and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset.

Mrs. Tracy was the last surviving member of a family of nine children. Her husband preceded her in death, as did also one of her sons.

She is survived by nine children: Raymond E. Tracy, Margaretha C. Tracy, Irene S. Tracy, all of Peru, Mrs. Marie A. Bindel of Des Moines, Elma E. Tracy of Peru; Martin F. Tracy of Greenfield, Mrs. Ida M. Miller of Norwalk, Thomas J. Tracy of Des Moines, and Richard G. Tracy of Peru. She also leaves 11 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Rosary services for Mrs. Tracy were held last Wednesday evening from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset. Funeral services were conducted Thursday from St. Joseph's Catholic church here, by the pastor, the V. Rev. Msgr. John W. Higgins. Burial was made in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery at Bridgewater.
