Ruth "Juanita" Adams-Johnston, 98, of Anderson, passed away on October 28, 2018 at her son's residence. She was born on July 23, 1920 in Anderson, where she resided all of her life.
Juanita attended Anderson High School, and retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors.
She was a member of Country Friends Home Ec. Club, UAW #662, Forresters, Kappa Gamma Phi, The White River Gym Society, she bowled for the GM Bowling Team, she volunteered at St. John's Hospital with the Victoria Guild, also with Rolling Hills Nursing Home, and at various schools helping kids learn to read.. She enjoyed traveling, working on crafts, going to craft shows, cake decorating, and spending time with her family and friends.
Juanita is survived by her children, Jan (Wendell White) Tremaine, Stephen (Nancy) Adams; sister, Wanda Huff; grandchildren, Daniel (Sheryl) Tremaine, Julie (Brian) Bass, Iam Tremaine, Jake Adams (Megan), Nick (Krisanna) Adams; eight great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Orville Adams, Wayne Johnston; mother, Dolly M. Waitman; father, Charles E. Waitman; siblings, Florence Rinker, Helen Everman, Charles Waitman Jr., Mary Alice Madara, Walter Waitman, Madonna Brewster; and her son-in-law, Don Tremaine.
The family would like to give a special thanks to, Hoosier Healthcare, Paradigm Hospice, Dr. Lawlor, and Tammy Coty, who gave Juanita the loving care and assistance that the family couldn't have done without her.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 2, 2018, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson.
Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday November 2, 2018 at the funeral home with the Rev Gregg officiating.
Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial park.
