Catherine J. "Sue" Himes, 83, Brookville, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018.

She was born, the oldest of eight children, on July 24, 1935, in Summerville.

Sue married Robert I. Himes on March 11, 1954. He preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1990.

She was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and also the United Methodist Women.

She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She worked as a head cook for Mapleview School and retired from there as the cafeteria manager. She also worked after her retirement for Grandma's Kitchen in Stanton.

Sue was involved with the Punxsutawney Theatre Arts Guild making costumes, and was also a volunteer at the information desk at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital. She was active in Bob's Ice Cream Shop at the Coolspring Power Museum.

Sue is survived by her four children, son Mark Himes of Coolspring, son Clair Himes and wife Karen of Burkett Hollow, son Brian Himes and wife Linda of Burkett Hollow, and daughter Reba Clapper and husband Tom of James Creek; three grandchildren, Jennifer Barnett, Michael Himes and Ashley Himes; a sister, Phyllis Kautenbaugh of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three infant daughters and a daughter-in-law, Kim Himes.

Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at the funeral home, with Pastor Doug Wolfe officiating.

Interment will be in Coolspring Cemetery, Coolspring.
