Don "Coach" Lindsey Hanna, age 78, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Monday October 29, 2018. Don was born December 18, 1939 to the late James Bradley and Ora Nell Goodwin Hanna . Don was born and raised in Laurel Mississippi and earned his bachelor’s degree as well as two master’s degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS , where he played football. He later earned his Master's degree from Georgia State. He joined the US Army, serving with the 54th Airborne Division. He was an educator, mentor, and football coach. Coach was also a member of the Studebaker Club of Atlanta. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kerri Annabelle Hanna; and brother, James Bradley Hanna, Jr.. He is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Charles) Hanna- Carroll, Kim (Brian) Hanna Henlsey; Grandchildren, Kelsey (Cody)Hensley Hamby, Kerri Hensley, Christopher Carroll, Charles Stuart Carroll; great- grandson, William Parker Hamby; twin brother, John Hanna, brother, Preston (Jeanette) Hanna; sister, Sarah Campbell; mother of his children, Nancy Hanna Waller; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends. A visitation for Coach will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 2:00 pm. A committal will follow at Eastlawn Memeorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd. McDonough, GA 30252. Expressions/donations may be made in Coach's name to the American Diabetes Association.
