Margaret (Goodwin) Phillips was born on February 10, 1878 in Humphreys County, Tennessee, the daughter of Christopher Columbus "Chris" Goodwin (1850–1933) and Margaret Josephine "Josie" (Warren) Goodwin (1856–1939).
She was married to William Boone Phillips.
Working in the alteration department of Washington Manufacturing Company and living at 4709 Elkins Avenue in Nashville, Margaret was 68 years old and a widow when she died at home of acute circulatory collapse on February 14, 1946. Burial was two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison {city, not county}.
