In loving memory of Katrina Batchelor-Washington, who passed away September 25, 2018, will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018; 11:00 a.m. at the Greater Mt. Moriah P.B. Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave, Dr. B.R. Fulton, Jr., pastor, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Washington was born in Tampa, Florida. She was educated by Hillsborough County Public Schools and was an alumna graduate of Bethune-Cookman College. She was a lively and creative educator with a fun-loving spirit. She was preceded in death by, her father, JC Taylor, Jr.; brothers, Keith R. Batchelor Sr. and JC Taylor III (Mick); grandparents, John and Alberta Batchelor and JC Taylor Sr. and Corine Taylor. She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her husband, Ronnie (Chris) Washington; daughter, Jesyca L. Giles (special friend James McDonald Jr.); stepchildren, Jasmine Brown-Times (Rev. Sheldon, Alexis and Jordan Times) and Jerrica Conley (Amariah and Maleeq Conley); mother, Barbara B. Johnson; sister, Bridget Taylor; aunts, Bettye Brown (Clifford), Shigeko Louise Batcheor; nephew, Keith R. Batchelor, Jr. (Raven), and other beloved nieces and nephews; cousins, Linda B. Aldrich (Sam Aldrich), Gail Green and Veronica Borders(Charles Borders); and a host of treasured cousins and relatives; god-sister, Valerie Buchanan; god-children, Lakeshia Williams (Perry Williams Sr., Perry Williams Jr., and Jordyn Williams) and Cedric Prince; extended family friends, Willie Mae Burney, Martha Thompson, Eldis Mitchell, Ethel (Pat) Davis, Linda Grant, Terry Griffin, Rebecca Andrews, Jennifer Ellington and their families. Lastly, our sincerest gratitude goes to, Mrs. Washington’s home church, The Greater Mt. Moriah P.B. Church. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
