EDNA SHANAHAN
Edna Shanahan, 93, of Centerville died Monday, July 1, 1996, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital. She was born Jan. 24,, 1903, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Hartsook) Peel.
She married David Shanahan in 1920 in Appanoose County. He preceded her in death in 1945.
Survivors include two sons, Don and his wife, Pearl, and Bernard and his wife, Dee, all of Centerville; eight grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Clifford; eight brothers and sisters; a grandson; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centerville.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, at the Lange Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held all day Thursday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.
