Annie"Elizabeth" (Deaver) Bryant passed away at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center on October 21, 2018 in Birmingham, AL at the age of 86.

Elizabeth was born on April 3, 1932 in Locust Fork, Alabama.

Daughter of Fred Ewing Deaver Sr. (1896-1972) and Virgie Hudson Deaver (1905-1990) of Blount County, Alabama.

Paternal Grandparents: Finis E. Deaver (1851-1925) and Sarah Elizabeth Huie Deaver (1861-1931) of Blount County, Alabama.
Maternal Grandparents: Thomas Hudson (1869-1942) and Anna Copeland Hudson (1873-1945) of Blount County, Alabama.

She graduated from Locust Fork High School in 1950.

She married Leroy (Bunk) F. Bryant on July 17, 1954. The Bryant's remained in the Greater Birmingham area for the majority of their 52 years of married life. Elizabeth dedicated her life to her family, raising three sons and caring for her grandchildren and many neighbor children. She was active in the Helena Cumberland Presbyterian Church whether it was assisting with Vacation Bible School, actively participating in her Sunday School class, or serving as an elected church elder.

Elizabeth dearly loved children and was "Granny" to a host of neighbor children, many of whom remain as lifelong friends. Pulling from her experiences of growing up during the Depression Era, she had a knack for inspiring creativity and tenacity in others. There was never a problem too big to tackle and she would find ingenious ways of resolving them.

Elizabeth is survived by her son Glenn and daughter-in-law, Lisa Bryant of Brooks, GA, son Don and daughter-in-law Sheila Bryant of Helena, AL and son Rick Bryant of Lakeview, AL; her sister Faye and husband Bob Durfield of Stone Mountain, GA; three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy "Bunk" Bryant (1928-2006), her parents, a sister; Margie Sue Deaver Gengler (1933-1998) and three brothers; John Alexander Deaver (1924-1984), Charles Lester Deaver (1926-1999) and Fred Ewing Deaver Junior (1928-2012).

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 2pm to 3pm at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Trussville, AL. Graveside service will follow at 3pm at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
