Bessie Swinford, 85, of Choctaw, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007. She was born December 14, 1921 to James and Ethel Vickers in Kendrick, OK. Bessie married Harold Swinford on May 5, 1945 in Wellston, OK and they made Choctaw their home in 1946. She worked for Guy James Industrial as a seamstress. Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers: Howard, Ernest, and Melton. She is survived by her husband, Harold Swinford; two sons: Roy Swinford and wife Carolyn and Ray Swinford and wife, Julie; her daughter, Rhonda Swinford; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ollie King; and two brothers, Jack Vickers and James Vickers. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, May 18, 2007 at Wellston Cemetery, Wellston, OK. Barnes & Johnson Funeral Home 1820 S. Douglas Blvd Midwest City 733-2991
