Mr. Gary Wayne Burchett, age 68, of Titusville, Florida, formerly of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013, at his residence.

He was born March 19, 1945, in Rowan County, Kentucky, the son of the late Wilford Paul and Ola Baker Burchett.

Gary was of the Christian faith and retired from AK Steel as an electrician. He was a member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge # 629. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a Shriner and served as a Potentate Escort and in the Hillbilly unit. In addition, he was a member of VFW in Florida and Kentucky, the American Legion Post #138 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, and the American Lodge Moose in Ashland, Kentucky and Florida.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jolly Roger Burchett and one sister, Delores Cooley.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Burchett McGuire and husband David and Erica Burchett McKinney and husband Mike all of Louisa, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Heather Lynn McGuire, Oliva Jordan McGuire, Myca Paige McKinney, Macy Grace McKinney all of Louisa Kentucky; honorary mention, Priscilla McKinney Baierlein, husband Brett, son Steffen of Lancaster, Kentucky, Keisha Bowen Parson and husband Brandon, William Chris Kazee all of Louisa, Kentucky; five brothers and sisters-in-law, James Arnett Burchett and the late Bonnie of Pikeville, Kentucky, John Paul and Bonnie Burchett of Morehead, Kentucky, Daniel A. and Lillie Burchett of Norman, Oklahoma, David W. Burchett of Greenup, Kentucky, and Douglas M. and Sandy Burchett of Raceland, Kentucky; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Mae and Bob Shay of Garden City, Michigan, Betty Kay and Bob Jacobs of Grayson, Kentucky, Bertha Bond and the late Richard of Morehead, Kentucky, and Peggy and Jim Hall of Morehead, Kentucky. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Pastor Guy Moyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with full military rites conducted by Olive Hill American Legion Post #138.

Friends may visit from 10 a.m. and until the service hour Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the First Bapist Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Masonic Rites will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church by the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge Number 629.
