Funeral services for Marion Izzie Kilgore, 64, who died yesterday of a gunshot wound at his home in New Hope, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.
Services will be conducted at the Hebron Baptist Church by the Rev. Sebe Keel. Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery. Butler Brothers Funeral Home of New Hope will be in charge.
Mr. Kilgore's death was the result of a self-inflicted wound. Mr. Kilgore had been in ill health for a long period of time.
Mr. Kilgore is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosa Lee (Dunn) Kilgore; five daughters, Emily May (Kilgore) Green and Edna Violet (Kilgore) Ledbetter, both of New Hope; Mrs. Audrey Elizabeth (Kilgore) Pendergrass of Fackler, AL; Izzie Lois (Kilgore) Ball of Elkmont and Rosa Nell (Kilgore) Leak of Chicago, IL; four sons, Colyn Dunn Kilgore of Atlanta, GA, William Walker "Jack" Kilgore and Donald Ray "Peewee" Kilgore of Chicago, IL, Jim Walter Kilgore, USN, in Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Winford Kilgore and Sallie (Bevill) Kilgore; three sons, James Daniel "J. D." Kilgore, Marion Izzie Kilgore, Jr, and Joe Randolph Kilgore; and one daughter, Ruby Constance Kilgore.
Marion Kilgore and Rosa Lee Dunn were married July 3, 1910, Madison Co, AL.
