Ira Randolph Eaton, 77, of Route 1, Box 73, Wesley died Jan. 10, 1997, at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1919, at Red Star, Ark., the son of Ransom and Mary Ann Samuels Eaton. He was retired from Elkhart Products Company in Fayetteville and was a member and long-time deacon of the Drakes Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Gary Eaton, and by one daughter, Mrs. Nell Sloan.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lillie Rose Fields Eaton of the home, whom he married on June 12, 1937; four sons, Rayburn Eaton of Elkins, Winfred Eaton and Roy Eaton, both of Wesley, and Arvis Eaton of Briggs, Tex.; seven daughters, Mrs. Joyce Bunch of Elkins, Mrs. Sharon Carter of Doraville, Ga., Mrs. Norma Marshall of Wesley, Mrs. Janice Torbett and Mrs. Sandra Bowman, both of Fayetteville, Mrs. Linda Baxter of Leander, Tex., and Ms. Patricia Eaton of Goshen; four brothers, Glen Eaton, Cecil Eaton, Arlis Eaton and Lynville Eaton, all of Elkins; three sisters. Mrs. Milbra Parker of Huntsville, Mrs. Velma Laird of Berryville, and Mrs. Violet McClure of Fort Smith; 27 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the Drakes Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. C.G. Fisher and the Rev. Lynville Eaton officiating. Interment was in the Bohannan Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were grandsons.
