Mattie B. Shifflett was born on August 5, 1925, and died on Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was born in Madison County in what became the Shenandoah National Park. She is survived by her husband, Odie O. Shifflett of Fluvanna County. She leaves her three sons, Carroll W. Shifflett and his wife, Helen, of Fluvanna County, Everett "Steve" Shifflett and his wife, Peggy, of Fluvanna County, Glenn A. Shiflett and his wife, Irene, of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Clayton Shifflett and his wife, Karen, of Crozet, Virginia, Cindy S. Mullens and her husband, Mike, of Australia, Glenn Shifflett Jr. and Regenia Shifflett of San Antonio, Texas. She retired from Comdial Corporation. Mattie was dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all. There will be no funeral service. We are grateful to Steve and Peggy Shifflett who stayed by her every minute until she passed.
