A native of Swain County, he was the son of Lorene Skidmore Jenkins of Bryson City and the late Ralph P. Jenkins who died in 1984. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved dong anything outdoors.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a sister, Lauren Ellen Jenkins; brother and sister-in-law, R.P. and Sally Jenkins of Bryson City; nephew, Jon-Mark Jenkins; and great-nephew, Casey Jenkins, all of Bryson City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 28 in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. The Revs. O.J. Skidmore and Ed Kilgore officiated. Burial was in the Jenkins Cemetery.
