The community of North Brookfield and surrounding areas were shocked and saddened, on Saturday morning, October 6, 1979, to learn of the passing of a neighbour and friend, Laurie Havelock Crouse, age 69 years, at the D.M. Hospital, Bridgewater.

He was born in East Clifford, the son of Nettie Crouse (Kaulback) and the late Sanford J. Crouse. He came to North Brookfield, Queens County, in his early teens. He was employed for many years with the Department of Highways and also a farmer until his retirement a few years ago.

He is survived by his wife, the former Arlene Crouse, Upper branch; five sons, Lawrence, Alymer, Ontario; Glenwood, London, Ontario; Douglas, Caledonia; Myles, North Brookfield; and Wayne, at home; two daughters, Carolyn (Mrs. Robert Boviard), Brampton, Ontario; Linda (Mrs. David Veinot), Caledonia, also mother, Nettie Crouse; two brothers, Leo and Earl, North Brookfield; four sisters, Ila Veinot, Wileville; Hazel (Mrs. Enos Crouse), North Brookfield; Laura (Mrs. Robert Frail), Helen (Mrs. Elbert Fancy), of Westfield; and eleven grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons, one grandson, and two sisters.
