Harmen D. Johnston, 75, RD 2 Canonsburg died unexpectedly in the Canonsburg General Hospital on Nov. 17, 1958. He had been in his usual health and was admitted to the hospital at 9:45 p.m.
A riveter with the Fort Pitt Bridge Works Mr. Johnston retired in April 1955. He was the husband of the late Lida Stephenson Johnston who died Nov. 3, 1955.
The deceased was born in Carrick, Pa. Jan. 28, 1883 and was a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Gilkeson Johnston. He had resided in Canonsburg almost his entire lifetime. He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three children: Margaret, wife of David K Miller, Waynesburg; Dorothy, wife of Clark Maxwell, Hookstown, Pa. and Jonn, Dayton Ohio. He also leaves four grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the W. Leonard Griffith Funeral Home after 7 o'clock where services will be held Thursday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. Arthur C. Haverly, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Oak Spring Cemetery.
