Dwight Arlo Burton, 99, of South Hutchinson, died October 5, 2018, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born April 29, 1919, in Plainville, the son of James E. and Daisy E. (Bair) Burton.

Dwight graduated from Plainville High School and Salt City Business College, Hutchinson. He worked as an accountant for Far-Mar-Co for many years until his retirement. Dwight was a 33rd Degree Mason and member and past Master of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, High 12 Club, and Midian Shrine Scooter Patrol. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

On September 17, 1941, he married Norma ‘Jane’ Low at Phillipsburg. They shared almost 74 years of marriage before her death on September 7, 2015.

Dwight is survived by: daughter, Chyrl Buck (Mike) of Basehor; son, Randy Burton of Olathe; grandchildren, Nathan Burton, Nichole DeLeon, Randy Burton Jr., Jennifer Holmes, and Jason Buck; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, J.D.; brothers, Ronald and Roy.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Mennonite Friendship Communities or Kindred Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
