Kay Stone, age 72, Salem, Arkansas passed away on October 02, 2018 in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on December 05, 1945 in Clarkridge, Arkansas to Aaron and Christine (Kirkland) Stone.
Kay had a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and used that degree when she worked at Campus of Care in Winslow, Arizona and as the director of the Viola Senior Center in Viola, Arkansas. In her free time she enjoyed knitting, gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with her family. Kay was a devoted member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many years up until her passing. One thing she was the most proud of was the fact that she was the matriarch of her family.
She is survived by her son Jeffery Stone (Katrina) of Pikeville, Tennessee; two daughters: Anita Garreans of Salem, Arkansas, Chrissy Lee Garreans of Glenwood, Iowa; grandchildren: John, Aaron, Jake, Justin, Emma, Madi, Dana, Abby, Rocky; great-grandchildren: Levi, Colt and Christina; brothers: Coy Stone (Kathie) of Viola, Arkansas, Kenny Stone (Brenda) of Clarkridge, Arkansas, Stanley Stone (Elsa) of Orange, California; one sister Judy Stone Young (Randy) of Joseph City, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: BJ Hicks, Carrol Ray Stone; one sister: Sue Maddox; one Brother in law Charles Maddox; one niece: Tuni Hicks; two nephews: Dennis Maddox and Eddie Lee.
A memorial service will be held at Roller Funeral Home at 1 PM Sunday, October 07, 2018 with President Lee Roy Castor officiating. Interment will be at Howards Ridge Cemetery following the service.
