Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 5, 2018 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Larry Harvey officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Cheryl was born February 4, 1959, in Amarillo to G.W. and Lena Gattis. She graduated from Gregory Portland High School in 1977 and attended Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos.
Cheryl began her career working for the City of Amarillo. She worked for First Care from 1992-2008, first in Amarillo and then in Austin. She returned to Amarillo and went to work for Upshaw Insurance where she just celebrated her 10 year anniversary with Upshaw.
Cheryl was loved by many. She had a huge heart and she helped so many through the years. She was the one person her friends and family knew they could count on.
She was preceded in death by her father, G.W. Gattis; and a nephew, Scott Gattis.
Survivors include her mother, Lena Gattis, of Amarillo; her brother, Dan Gattis and wife Bonnie, of Fritch, TX; special nieces and nephews; and her beloved Yorkie, Cooper.
