Lehigh--Felix Ruthart, 63, died early Monday morning at Veterans Hospital, Des Moines, where he had been a patient for one week.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Lehigh, with burial in the Otho Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Lehigh VFW Post.
Carson Funeral Home, Dayton is in charge where friends may call after 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Vikki Ruthart, Lehigh; son, Nicholas, Chula Vista, Calif. where he is chief petty officer in the U. S. Navy; one granddaughter; brothers, Joe and Vic, both of Lehigh; sisters, Mrs. Norman Johnson, Callender; Mrs. Josephine Schoeberlein, Montana; Mrs. Lawrence Irish, Lehigh, and Miss Beverly Ruthart, Fort Dodge.
Mr. Ruthart was born in Austria and came to the Madrid, Iowa, area in 1914. For the past 55 years, he had lived in Lehigh.
In 1934, he married Violet Bloomquist at Lehigh. She died in 1975.
Mr. Ruthart had worked at the U.S. Gypsum mills in Fort Dodge for the past 26 years.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Lehigh VFW; the Lehigh American Legion Post; Lehigh Senior Citizens and the Teamsters Union in Fort Dodge.
