∼Sophia J. Ruthart Johnson was born April 4, 1923 at Ankeny, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Lehigh. On July 4, 1942 she was united in marriage to Norman R. "Shy" Johnson. The couple made their home and farmed near Callender. Norman passed away in 2004. Sophia remained on the farm until establishing her home at Bickford Cottages in 2010.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman; parents, Ludwig and Josephine (Schober) Ruthard; brothers, Felix, Victor, and Joseph Ruthart; and sisters, Beverly Ruthart, Mary Irish, and Josephine Schoberlein.
