KINGRY, Jesse E. - Age 87, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away January 19, 2003.
Born December 31, 1915 to Ballard and Essie (Lapradd) Kingry in Roamoke, Virginia. He was the eldest of 14 children. He grew up and went to school in Fremont, Nebraska.
He belonged to the Nebraska National Guard until moving to Oregon in 1941.
He married Frances Leggett in Red Cloud, Nebraska on October 12, 1935. He worked as a sawyer for years and later as groundsman and head custodian at Roseburg High School. He owned two restaurants in the early 1950's.
Seven brothers and sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Neal and wife, Louise; son, Carroll Lee; son, James and wife, Penny; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; the light of his life was one year old great-great granddaughter, Lacie; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters, Harold Kingry and wife, Judy; Everett Kingry and wife, Arlene; Hazel Clark and husband, Sam, all of Fremont; Eva Beckley of Oakley, California; Elsie Walker of Chicago, Illinois; Ray Kingry and wife, Sheila of Tacoma, Washington. At his request, no services will be held. A memorial will be held at a later date.
