Mrs. Emma Amundson

CHATFIELD, Minn. - Mrs. Emma Amundson, 88, died Tuesday evening at the home of a son in rural Chatfield after a brief illness.

The former Emma Jacobson, Mrs. Amundson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jacobson and was born in Chatfield Township March 18, 1874. She was married to Christian Amundson Nov. 11, 1897, at North Prairie Church. He died 11 years ago.

Mrs. Amundson is survived by three sons, Marvin, Carl, and Kenneth, all of Chatfield; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur Redalen, Rochester; a sister, MRs. Lettie Lovelin, Spring Valley, Minn,; a brother, Carl Jacobson, Chatfield; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was a charter member of Chatfield Lutheran Church and a member of its Ladies Aid.

Funeral services will be Saturday at Chatfield Lutheran Church. The Rev. James Braaten will officiate and burial will be in Chatfield Cemetery.

Six grandsons, Robert, Walter, Edward, John, and Stanley Amundson and Ronald Redalen, will be pallbearers.

Friends may call at Boetzer-Akeson Funeral Home here after 3 p.m. Friday and after 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
