Floretta ‘Flo’ Gionfriddo
May 6, 1936 - Sept. 18, 2018
Floretta “Flo” Gionfriddo, 82, Dysart, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona.
She was born in Loretto RD, daughter of the late Russell B. and Dorothy (Feighner) Bruce.
Surviving are a son, David (Jaime) of Dysart; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Gary) Hartman, Travis Gionfriddo (Breeanna) and Amanda Bruce (David Morris); and two great-granddaughters: Adabelle and Delilah Gionfriddo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flo was the last member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo on Aug, 22, 2017; three daughters: Lori, Rose Christy and Denise Halerz; a grandson, Mark Eger; a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Gionfriddo; six brothers: Patrick, Joseph, Russell, George “Bob,” Donald and Daniel; and three sisters: Delaine Hall, Phyllis Sanker and Mary Sherry.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville.
Flo enjoyed spending time with her family, coloring with her great-granddaughter, Adabelle, playing the Pennsylvania Lottery and she was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Ashville. Committal will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
