Priscilla Lee Fontenot Manuel, 79, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 4:39 AM on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Manuel was born July 13, 1939 in Oberlin, LA and lived most of her life in Westlake, LA, where she graduated from Westlake High School. She worked at Western Heights Elementary School for eighteen years in the cafeteria, retiring in 2000. Following her retirement, she went to work for Christus St. Patrick Hospital as a valet for another ten years. She enjoyed reading and spending time outdoors tending to her plants, especially her tomatoes and cucumbers. She had a strong faith in God and his word. She will always be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family, whom she prayed for regularly.

Mrs. Manuel is survived by her daughter, Tambra Lynn Manuel; son, Michael Scott Manuel; brother, Buford Fontenot and wife Lucille Grace, all of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Devin Scott Floyd and wife Jaclyn and Jeremy Cade Floyd; great-grandchild, Gavin Alexander Floyd; and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Horace Manuel; parents, Minnie and Edison Fontenot, Sr.; brother, Edison Fontenot, Jr; and sister, Emma Lois Yawn.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Seth Donald will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
