Dannie was the grandson of John William Ash, and wife his first wife, Ada (Cox) Ash on his Father's side of the family, and Danny was the Grandson of Charles Edward Simpkins, and wife Lula Belle (Atkins) Simpkins on his Mother's side of the Family. All of his Grandparents were from Catoosa, Oklahoma.
