Mrs. Augusta Kreitzburg, 78, former Rockford resident, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, in Swedish-American hospital, where she had been a patient since May 23.

Mrs. Kreitzburg was born in Germany and came to this country when she was 16 years old. She was married to George A. Kreitzburg Feb. 16, 1898, in Holcomb. The couple farmed in Ogle County until March, 1919, when they moved to Rockford.

Since the death of her husband Nov. 24, 1926, Mrs. Kreitzburg had been making her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Mead, in Rockton. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church of Rockford.

Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Mead, Rockton; a son, A. E. Kreitzburg, Waterloo, Ia.; a granddaughter, Marily J. Kreitzburg, Waterloo; a step-granddaughter, Mrs. James P. Nolan, and two great-grandchildren, Michael and David Nolan, all of Rockford; a sister, Mrs. Louisa Begolka, Atlanta, Ill., and a brother, Emil Hass, Chicago.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in St. Paul's Lutheran church with the Rev. Walter Roschke officiating. Burial will be in Big Mound cemetery in Holcomb.
