He began working for Prince William Park Authority in 1989 until leaving due to health issues in 2016. There he enjoyed 27 years as a Park Ranger meeting people all over the county and most of all loved going to the county schools to share about nature within the parks. He always received tons of thank you letters from the children, which he loved reading.
Nolie coached baseball for Dumfries Little League as well as Babe Ruth baseball in Quantico. He was always hard on his ballplayers but they loved him. Nolie had no problem telling their parents to go home if they didn’t like his coaching and the way he trained his players they could come back and get them when they were done. Many of his players have kept up with him over the years.
He was a people person who loved to talk and never met a stranger. Most of all he loved his family. His grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of his life.
