MaryAnn O'Malley, 72, of Park Ridge Drive, Shickshinny, Hunlock Twp., passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at her home, in the loving care of her husband and Hospice of the Sacred Heart, following a lengthy illness.

Born March 25, 1946, in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Celia Rosinski Rustay. She was a graduate from Nanticoke High School, Class of 1964, and Empire Beauty School, Wilkes-Barre.

She married Robert J. O'Malley on Aug. 20, 1966. They resided in Nanticoke before building their home in Hunlock Twp. in 1973.

Although Mary Ann's main interest in life was her home and raising her family, she had worked for RCA, Mountain Top, Alta Products and Colonial Fair, Nanticoke and last at Manor Sportswear, Sugar Notch, retiring as shipping superintendent in 1993.

She was an active member of the former St. George's Episcopal Church, Nanticoke, serving on the Altar Guild and as president of the women's group as well as all other church activities throughout the years.

She was an avid Penn State fan, enjoyed cooking and the hobbies of crocheting and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Thomas O'Malley, on Dec. 13, 2013, and grandson, Zackary Thomas O'Malley on March 8, 2015.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Bob, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; a son, Robert O'Malley Jr. and his husband, Bob Quintana, Yardley; grandsons, Brian, Harry and Jacob; a great-granddaughter, Aria Marie; a brother, Roland Rustay Jr., Clearwater, Fla.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

MaryAnn's family extend their sincere appreciation to her visiting nurses who cared for her and especially thank the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their wonderful care.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. Charles C. Warwick, pastor of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Alden Station, officiating.

Interment will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
