JENNIE MAUDE HEATH COLEMAN

Jennie Maude Heath was the daughter of William C. Heath and Annie Gettins. Her father was a printer who came to Detroit, MI, from Chicago, IL when Maude was a young girl.

A few years after her beloved husband, Claud Coleman, died, Maude remarried to Wayne Johnson, a widower with two young sons, Warren and Fred. They raised their combined families in Belleville, and had over thirty happy years together before Wayne's death in 1950.

Maude had a deep and abiding faith in God and was an active member of the Methodist Church in Belleville, MI, for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Needlecraft of every kind was her hobby. She made quilts, embroidered linens, and crocheted many doilies. Her hands were never idle.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, daughter Victorine Harrison, and sons, Sumner, Clarence, and Alger Coleman and step-son, Warren Johnson.

She lived with her daughter, Beatrice and son-in-law Ovid Riggs in Wayne, MI during her final years. Maude was buried next to her first husband on the Coleman plot, and Wayne Johnson was buried next to his son, Warren Johnson on the Johnson plot at Hillside Cemetery, Belleville, MI.
