Goldie Pauline Johnson(Brown), better known to everyone as “Polly”, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born January 17, 1923 in Hazelton, KS, to Gaines and Florence (Pruitt) Brown.

She was a 1940 graduate of Medicine Lodge High School. On September 4, 1945, she married William E. Johnson “Bill”. Together they had 2 children, Gerald(1947) and Wilma(1953). Polly truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, hanging out with her grandchildren, watching sports, knitting, crocheting, doing word searches and reading her Bible. Polly was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill. Her parents Gaines and Florence Brown, brother, Odis, sisters Maxine and Eudora and her son Gerald as well as many other treasured family members. She is survived by her daughter, Wilma and Larry, granddaughter, Mykala and Jeff, grandson, Shane and Amber, grandson Chance and Tess, sister Wanda, and brother Leland “Brownie” as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Family, friends and other whose lives Polly touched are invited to visit with the family on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Bill Merritt Funeral Service and attend her funeral service on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10:00am in the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel.
