Charles was the son of Robert Bruce and Susannah Sloan, he died in 1837 while still a minor. His father Robert was the Administrator of his estate. When the Graves were moved to New Prospect , the Army corps of Engineers surveyed and numbered the graves from oldest to the most recent so we can be almost totally sure that old grave no. 1 as it was in the Bruce family cemetery was Charles's, No3 being his mothers died 1861 and no. 2 would have been his fathers died 1860.
