Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Lagaly Carter will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Union City with interment in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Josephine Patricia Louise Carter of Houston, Texas, died Aug. 10, 2018, of complications of Alzheimers at Tomball, Texas. She was born March 18, 1940, on the family farm in Union City, the youngest daughter of George and Agatha (Menz) Lagaly. She was raised in Union City where she attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Union City High School. Her major at Dallas Baptist College was business development and administration. She worked for many years at Bluebonnet Savings.

She met John W. Carter in Oklahoma City and they were married July 8, 1960, in Union City at St. Joseph Catholic Church. John survives her.

Josephine is also survived by three daughters, Kyra and Robert Phillips of Heath, Texas, Katrina and Dennis Brock of Houston, Texas, and Kim Carter and Dr. Doug Hogan of Plano, Texas; brother, Leo Lagaly of Union City; sisters, Helen Moore of Cypress, Calif., and Cleo Estes of Powell, Wyo.; and grandchildren, Caitlin Phillips, Kelsie Chandler and William Chandler.

Her parents, four sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
