Marion, the youngest child of Thomas B Hudson and Louisa Jane Trimble, can be found in the 1870 Census (Jeffersonville, Montgomery, Kentucky; Roll: M593_489; Page: 256B) living with his parents and siblings. He was born in 1865.

His father passed away around 1873 when he was barely 8 years old. His older brothers, John and William "Buck," likely guided him into adulthood.

Marion's first wife was Josephine Glover. They married in 1890 at his mother's home in Montgomery Co, KY. Unfortunately, her fate is uncertain, and it's presumed she passed away before 1900.

In the 1900 census, he is living in the Spencer area working for John E Young as a laborer. Within the next year, he became acquainted with the widow Rose Carpenter Jackson. She had two children and lived with her parents. They were married about 1901 and welcomed daughter Effie the next year.

By 1910, the family was living in a rented home near Olympia Springs in Bath Co, where Marion supported them as a wagon driver. Of the five people in the household, only her 16-year-old daughter Bessie was literate.

Tragedy struck in 1913 when Marion succumbed to pneumonia at the age of approximately 48.

Notes:
His death certificate says he was the son of Buck Hudson and Mary Smith. Buck was his older brother and he would have been 11-years-old when Marion was born. The informant on the certificate was TS Shunt and it is not known how this person knew Marion.

His mother Louisa Trimble died at his home in 1906 and she is listed as his mother. His wife would have known her.

Josephine was the daughter of Nancy Glover. In the 1870 census, her family is listed as paupers.
