Gloria Dean Leger Moreau, 79, died at 11:52 AM on Tuesday, August28, 2018.

Born April 16, 1939, Mrs. Moreau was a native of Cankton, raised by sharecroppers, and lived in Lake Charles since 1956. Her dedication manifested as a school bus driver with CPSB for 28.5 years. Her service to OLQH as a lay minister, St. Patrick’s as a pink lady and Barbe High School were honorable. She was a member of the Cajun French Music Association and had a lifelong passion for dancing. The loyalty to her family and friends was evident with the annual baking of gingerbread men.

Survivors include her son, Tim G. Moreau from Metairie; daughter, Mrs. Thomas J. O’Hara (Pam Moreau), of NC; sisters, Nell Rose Thibodeaux of Church Point, Elaine Thibodeaux of Lafayette, and Phyllis Howe, of TX; and beloved granddaughter, Katherine Grace O’Hara.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Levorel Moreau: son, Ray John Moreau; parents, Freddie and Verdie Leger; and brother, John Leger.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father Trey Ange will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.
