Luther Hugh Aldridge age 77, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away on July 17, 2016. He was born to Luther Leon Aldridge and Loris Hardy Aldridge. Luther graduated from Ingomar High School in 1957 and the University of Mississippi in 1961 with a degree in accounting. His first job was with Genenco in Nashville, TN as an auditor. Two years later he moved to New York City where he was employed by the House of fragrance. Later in life he changed careers and owned his own company Birkridge Associates, LTD of which he was president. Luther enjoyed living in the New England area. He loved his life participating in the arts, entertainment, traveling and fine dining. Luther was an avid world traveler all over the world at least 10 times over. He acquired a vast knowledge of the world and other cultures. His German shepherds, Vickie and Manchen were not just pets but constant companions and family to him. Luther was devoted to his church, St. John's Episcopal in Bridgeport. He served in many areas of leadership in the church as well as being junior and senior warden on the vestry for the church. Luther is survived by his spouse Victor Barness, a sister Loris Marlene Miller, a brother, James David Aldridge and long time friend Juanita Maldonado. Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. John's Episcopal Church, in Bridgeport. Burial will be in Mt. Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport.
