VIOLA (BEZIO) FRANCIS
Viola (Bezio) Francis, 92, a longtime resident of Colchester, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, in Birchwood Terrace Healthcare, with her family by her side. She was born Sept. 21, 1913, in Winchendon, Mass. She married Norman J. Francis, who predeceased her. She led a full life devoted to her children and grandchildren. Viola is survived by seven children and their spouses, Gloria and her husband John Mazza of Milton, Norma Hagan of Arlington, James R. Francis of Hinesburg, Linda Sweeney and her husband Maurice, of Hinesburg, Alma Pelchat and her husband Ray of Colchester, Bruce Francis and his wife Mary Lou of Colchester, and Timothy Francis of Colchester. She also leaves 27 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and six great-greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Pauline Russell.
A special thanks to Birchwood Terrace Healthcare, Special Care Unit, for their outstanding care and support for the past eight years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 17, at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Birchwood Terrace Residents' Fund Special Care Unit, 43 Starr Farm Road, Burlington. Arrangements are with LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St., Winooski.
