Gloria L. Mazza, 85, of Maplewood Avenue, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 in the presence of her loving family at the VNA Respite House in Colchester.

Gloria was born June 3, 1932 in Burlington, the daughter of the late James and Viola Bezio Francis. On August 29, 1952, she married John Paul Mazza in Burlington.

Her hobbies included crocheting, collecting salt and pepper shakers, going for enjoyable rides and having lunch with her husband John. She will be truly missed.

Gloria is survived by her husband of over 65 years, John Sr., of Milton; her children: Bonnie Mazza and husband, Gene Hurdle, of Fairfax, John Mazza, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Westford, Wendy Rushlow and her husband, Rodney, of Georgia; eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters: Alma Pelchat and husband, Raymond, of Colchester, Norma Hagan of Arlington, Linda Sweeney of Burlington, Tim Francis of Colchester and Bruce Francis and wife, Mary Lou, also of Colchester; her brother and sisters-in-law, Dick Mazza and his wife, Dolly, of Colchester, Martha Mazza of Colchester, Barbara Mazza of Brandon and Pauline Mazza of Milton; her special Aunt, Rita Cadorette, of Colchester and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jimmy Francis and her sister, Pauline Russell.

Gloria's family wishes to express their appreciation to all who helped them in their time of need, especially her nurse Amy Jackson from the VNA, Age Well and the Nurses, Doctors and Palliative Care Team at the UVM Medical Center and the Vermont Respite House.

As per Gloria's wishes there will be no visiting hours or funeral services. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
