George was born December 25, 1945, in Woodbury, New Jersey, to the late George & Elizabeth(Born) Stevenson. He worked as a supervisor for South Jersey Industries, for 38 years before retiring in 2005. He had also worked as a blacksmith, and butcher in the meat department at I.G.A.
In his free time, George enjoyed many outdoor activities, photography, and fishing; but his favorite was spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors, showing off his great dry sense of humor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betsy Stevenson and Janet Tyler.
