Donald Bert Brewster of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 13, 2005. Known lovingly as "Big", he will always be remembered by his unique, quick-witted sense of humor and loving generosity. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. The twinkle in his blue eyes and his mischievous smile were one of a kind. He was a wonderful and loving father, grandfather, and great-grand-father. He enjoyed each "little one" as they came along and offered his love and support as they grew. He was a friend for a lifetime. Don was born on July 5, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Esther and Herbert Brewster. He graduated from South High School in 1938 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He married Loraine Rufener on April 10, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. Those who will miss him dearly include his five children: Connie (Gene) Leggett of Salt Lake City; Cathy (Horst) Duerbeck of Charlotte, NC; Debbie (Doug) Bowen of Salt Lake City; Gary (Deirdre) Brewster of Vienna, Austria; and Steve Brewster of Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister, both living in Salt Lake City: Lyle (Colleen) Brewster, and Lois Kirton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Loraine; brother, Glen; and both parents. His family is grateful for the compassionate care provided by Care Source Hospice, and the love and companionship from his friends at Cottonwood Creek. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your charity of choice. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 So. 200 East, Salt Lake City.
