Lyle Jackson Brewster, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 1, 2015 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was the son of Herbert J. Brewster and Esther Elisabeth Jackson Brewster.

Lyle was born and grew up in Salt Lake City. He graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah, majoring in chemistry for two years until his Air National Guard unit was activated during the Korean War and he was assigned to the Olathe Naval Air Base in Olathe, Kansas. While in Olathe, he attended radar school.

On his first furlough home, he married his sweetheart, Colleen Thomson, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Their union was blessed with seven children: Cynthia (David) Blair, Douglas (Anne), Renee (Jeff) Miller, Michael (Eileen), Daniel (Patty), Blaine (Aimee), and Lisa Murphy.

Lyle was active in the LDS Church, holding many leadership positions. After he returned from active duty, Lyle joined his father and brother, Don, in the family business, Brewster Sheet Metal.

Lyle loved spending time with his family, especially in the great outdoors. He will be remembered for his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife; seven children; twenty-four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Kirton Lyle. Preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Glen.

The family would like to thank the Salt Lake Veterans Nursing Home and Bristol Hospice for their loving, tender care of Lyle.
