Velma Bansbach, 91, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Brookview Healthcare Center in Defiance.

She was born on September 4, 1926 to George and Mary (Goodwin) Foley in Dupont, Ohio. Velma was a 1945 graduate of Continental High School. In 1953 she married Herbert Bansbach, who resides in Defiance.

Velma is survived by her husband of 65 years, Herb Bansbaugh, daughter, Cheryl Bansbach of Defiance, sisters, Beulah Lanwehr of Ottawa, Ima Hawkins of Dupont, and Doris Meyer of Ottawa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven Bansbach, and sister, Colleen Ellerbrock.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery, Twp Road 23-H, Continental, Ohio, with Rev. Paul Carder officiating.

Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
