Billy was born Dec. 30, 1951 in MT. Ayr, Iowa to Marion Joel and Gisela (Porges) Maudlin.
Billy was raised on the family farm in Worth County, MO. He attended school in Grant city, graduating in 1970. He then went to mechanics school in Creston, IA.
Billy joined the Navy in 1972, serving on aircraft carriers. He retired as an instuctor in Millington, TN after serving 22 years. He then worked at Valero Refining in Memphis as a technician until he reached retirement age.
Billy loved hunting, coming home to worth County every deer season he could manage. He was always sought out to work on his friends cars-he could fix anything. He worked hard, played hard, and loved swapping stories with his friends over a cold beer.
Billy died at his home in Tipton County, TN with the death date set as Aug, 16.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grandparents James William and Oresta May (Coverdell) Maudlin, and Kurt and Margarete (Bendig) Porges.
He is survived by his children Tiffanie (Chris) Euman and James Daniel Maudlin, Grandchildren Tenley and Tucker Euman, sisters Charlotte (Byron) Gunsolley, Barbara (Bob) McCully, and Rose (Randy) Hiatt, Many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.
Memorial services were held Aug 26, 2018 at VFW Post 7175, Millington TN. A private memorial will be held in Worth County, MO at a later date.
