Francis J. Cachat, age 98, of Rocky River, OH passed away on April 6, 2018 at Ennis Court Assisted Living in Lakewood, OH. Devoted husband of Margaret "Peg"(nee Perry) for 75 years. Loving father of James A. (Mary Louise), Michael F. (Margaret), Dr. Paul T., Susan C. Kirkland (Aldren, deceased), Christopher J. (Dr. Suzanne, deceased), Mary Joan Papajcik (Ronald) and Catherine Mahoney (Donald). Grandfather of 19; Great-Grandfather of 28. Son of Leo Peter and Zita (ne Joliat) Cachat (both deceased). Dearest brother of Louis V. (deceased), Alice M. (deceased), Edward A. (Josephine)(both deceased), Mary Therese Kramer (John) (both deceased), Victor H. (Geraldine, deceased), Rev. Leo P. Cachat, S.J., and David A. (deceased) (Catherine). Beloved uncle and great-uncle of many. St. Ignatius High School '37, John Carroll University '41. In the Jesuit tradition, he was a man for others. Loyally served in World War II as Capt. in U.S. Army Air Forces, 9th Air Force, 416th Bomb Group. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Christopher Church, 20141 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116. The family will receive friends in the gathering area of the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. until Mass time. Private graveside service with Military Honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
